So far, all the on-device AI has been made by phone makers and usually needs special hardware.

There are a few local AI apps out there, but they’re just text-only and download stock AI models that run way too slow on consumer phones.

SelfReason is AI native, faster, and stronger! Our model is multimodal.

As the name SelfReason suggests, all the AI features in the HuBrowser ecosystem (like the SelfReason app, AI Adblock, reader mode, etc.) are self-sufficient and processed locally! You can turn on airplane mode and still use them!

Usage Tips#

System Requirements#

• Device Memory: Recommended for devices with 4GB+ RAM
• Storage Space: Please ensure 15+GB of available storage

First-Time Use#

• Initial Download: After installation, the default "Local Only" mode lets you experience local AI. Approximately 10GB of AI data will need to be downloaded to use local AI. If the download progress stops, it might be due to busy servers - try switching to a different server. Some regions may not be able to download. We continuously optimize the download experience. We strongly recommend waiting until the download is 100% complete before starting a conversation, otherwise the AI will be rather dull.
• Performance Improvement: The first conversation after download may be slower, but subsequent interactions will become faster as the cache is established. Some devices may require restarting the app after download completion for normal use

Optimization Suggestions#

• Resource Management: For best performance, please close other applications
• System Settings: Add SelfReason to various system whitelists (such as battery optimization whitelist, etc.)
• Automatic Mode: After experiencing "Local Only" mode, we recommend using automatic mode for everyday use. This allows network AI or search for general scenarios, with only local AI handling routing decisions, for the best experience
